Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry Eye Syndrome

Hello readers, We are very aware of this pandemic situation. But today I am not going to write anything on this.

Our classrooms are replaced with virtual meetings where there is no labs, no Hi-Hello with teachers. But childrens these days, sticks with their smartphones in the name of studying. They browse games and youtube generally in dark rooms or under the blankets. You can see many small childrens with a thick contact glasses or lenses. We only wants the cure for any disease but peoples these days are so busy in their living that they never spend a little bit of time ask the question what is the reason behind these thick lenses in a very young age of 3-8 years.

When we start questioning WHY our most of the problems get resolved.

Now coming to the point, what is the reason behind this, the answer is DRY EYE SYNDROME.

Just think in a hot summer  we get dehydrated just like Dry eye syndrome is dehydrating of eyes due to deficient of lubricating fluid in our eye or eye balls.

Main reasons is:

• long exposure of artificial light in a dark environment.

Dry Eye syndrome at a very first stage is not parmanent. At higher stages, you will feel difficulty in vision or blurrish vision.

What not to do:

• Never use smartphone or watch T.V. in a dark room.

• Never use devices under the blanket.

• Never stay in dark rooms for a long time.

What to do:

• Light all the bulbs or atleast 1 or 2 bulbs while studying.

• When Power goes off put your phone down.

• Keep some emergency lights to escape from darkness.

• Spread awareness among your young brother and sisters or with your fellow classmates.

Symptoms of dry eye:

The eye may become dry, red and inflamed. The main symptoms are discomfort and sensitivity to light.

Pain areas: in the eyes

Eyes: dryness, eye discomfort, feeling of something in eye, or redness

Also in general: sensitivity to light

How to Cure yourself in a early stage?

• Moistens your eye with a clean water to provide soothing relief.

• Use blue glasses to safeguard your eyes from further dryness.

• Arrange a meeting with a optometrist (diagnoses or treats vision changes) or ophthalmologist (specialist in eye diseases) if you feel irritation.

You can read any books with no stress just following these steps because dry eye syndrome is for those who uses devices in a dark.

According to The Hindu Report Every year India faces 14.5 Lakhs Dry Eye Cases. Luckily many of them gets the treatment and recovers completely.

Advice from my side based on my experiences:
  • If your Eyes starts swelling due to heavy usage of phones or tablets, then place Ice-Cubes on the swelled eye(s) and you may also use Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment (Eyecaps)
  • You may also use Bair ka leaves.  Its a home remedies which is advised by my sister.

Hope you enjoyed as much I did and learn something new with us.

Thank You!
